Zoey Tess is an American singer-songwriter, pianist and producer whose music blends Americana, folk rock and alternative rock with the tradition of socially conscious songwriting.

Born in South Florida and raised in Connecticut, Tess began playing piano at four and later studied classical piano, violin and voice. After attending Interlochen Center for the Arts and briefly studying at Berklee College of Music, she pursued a hands-on education in record-making, spending roughly two years working inside a recording studio, helping run sessions and learning recording, engineering and production firsthand.

Drawing inspiration from Fiona Apple, Ani DiFranco, Joni Mitchell, Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan, Tess blends confessional songwriting, folk tradition and alternative rock with a distinctly piano-driven voice. Her music pairs emotional directness with socially conscious storytelling, drawing equally from intimate singer-songwriter traditions and the rawer edges of alternative music.

Her debut album, There’s Gonna Be a Reckoning, was released in March 2026 and recorded at Clubhouse Studio in Rhinebeck, New York, with collaborators including Mario J. McNulty, Chris Gehringer, Dave Eggar and Paul Antonell.

Tess followed the album with The Fault Line Sessions (Live from Clubhouse Studio), a live collection reimagining her songs through piano, voice and string quartet.

She is also a member of Artists For Action, an artist-led coalition advocating for gun violence prevention.
